FARGO — All Fargo Public Schools students will receive free meals for the start of the school year via a United States Department of Agriculture program as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Free meals will be provided to all students, regardless of income level or whether they are attending in-person classes or distance learning, through Dec. 31 or until available federal funding runs out.

Fargo Public Schools will continue to track when students eat breakfast or lunch. Students will log their meals by using their lunch account number as normal. Current funds in a student account can be held for when charges resume.

Families are still encouraged to apply for the free and reduced price meal program, as these free meals are temporary and there are other household benefits to qualifying for the free and reduced program.
