ARTHUR, N.D. — A homeowner's report of a burglary in progress led Cass County sheriff's deputies to arrest a 37-year-old Fargo woman over the weekend, according to the sheriff's office.
At about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, March 27, deputies responded to the burglary report at a home in Arthur, a town about 33 miles northwest of Fargo.
The homeowner confronted the burglar, prompting them to flee. Soon afterward, deputies found the suspect's vehicle and pulled it over.
"During the initial investigation, deputies located stolen property from the Arthur residence and discovered that 37 year-old Laura Gaarsland had active warrants for her arrest," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
The homeowners did not want to pursue charges related to the property theft, but the sheriff's office says the investigation is ongoing.
