FARGO — There will be live horse racing in Fargo this July, but the North Dakota Horse Park will now open its first weekend with two days rather than just one, as earlier planned.

Races will now be held July 15-16, 23-24 and 30-31.

The meet includes one Friday evening of races with post times starting at 5 p.m. The remaining Saturday and Sunday race days will post at 1 p.m. Gates open one hour prior to the first post.

Parking is free, as is admission for children ages 12 and under. Gate admission for adults and those 13 and up is $8. Season tickets will be available for $40.

Each day of racing will have a special theme and include additional entertainment including Friday night entertainment, a Sunday hat contest and a North Dakota Cornhole Tournament and horseshoe toss to be held the last day of racing.
