FARGO — As it has done in the past, Fargo North High School recently received high marks and was ranked tops among area public high schools in the latest U.S. News & World Report review of schools around the United States.
The web-based publisher also listed North High as the No. 1 public high school in North Dakota and placed it 1,390th among high schools across the country.
In 2020, the online publisher also ranked Fargo North as tops in the Fargo metro area, as well as the state of North Dakota. North High ranked 2,200th among high schools nationally that year.
"This is tremendous recognition and I attribute it to our outstanding faculty, our dedicated students and our incredibly supportive families," North High Principal Travis Christensen said, referring to the latest rankings from U.S. News.
The publisher's rankings are based on a number of factors, including college readiness; college curriculum breadth; state assessment proficiency; state assessment performance; under served student performance; and graduation rate.

The Math and Science Academy in Woodbury, Minn., was tops among Minnesota high schools in the latest U.S. News review.
Moorhead high ranked 97th among Minnesota high schools and 5,600th among high schools nationally, in the latest review.
Detroit Lakes High School, which ranked 36th among Minnesota high schools in the 2020 national rankings, was ranked 56th among the state's high schools in the latest U.S. News review.
The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Va., was tops among public high schools across the country in the latest U.S. News review.
