Fargo North to induct 3 into hall of fame

FARGO — Fargo North High School will induct three people into its hall of fame this weekend.

Fargo Public Schools announced Thursday, Sept. 29, that North High will honor retired teacher Bruce Larson and alumni Doug Huber and Dr. Sarah Lien during a ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Prairie Rose Room at the North Dakota State University Memorial Union, 1401 Administration Ave., according to a news release.

Bruce Larson
Fargo Public Schools

Larson was hired as a Fargo Public Schools teacher and coach in 1987. He taught several science classes and physical education.

He also coached football and track. He became the Fargo North Spartan head football coach in 1995 before retiring that position in 2010. He would teach for two more years at the school.

Before working for the school district, he taught in Maple Lake, Minnesota, and for Shanley High School in Fargo, where he also coached several sports.

Huber graduated from Fargo North in 1974. He has been a loan officer for 37 years, including at Harwood State Bank for the last 12 years. He also is a member of the Fargo-Moorhead Cosmopolitan Service Club and the FM Athletics Youth Football Organization. He works as an office official for the Fargo North boys and girls hockey programs. He coaches Babe Ruth Baseball and the Patriot Hockey Organization.

A 1993 graduate, Lien is a clinical associate professor in pediatrics for the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. She also works in pediatrics urgent care at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Admission to the event costs $18, the release said. Tickets can be purchased at the North High office or by calling 701-446-2405.
