New principal named for Fargo's Eagles Elementary School

Jennifer Jung will become principal of Eagles Elementary beginning July 1 following the retirement of Tanya Wrigley-Lingle.

FARGO — Fargo Public Schools has announced the hiring of Jennifer Jung as the new principal of Eagles Elementary School.

Jung will assume the position for the 2023-24 school year on July 1 from Tanya Wrigley-Lingle, who will retire at the end of the 2022-23 school year, FPS said in a news release.

Jung currently serves as principal at Washington Elementary School in Jamestown.

She began her education career as a classroom teacher at Dickinson Public Schools, then worked as a K-12 counselor for Richardton-Taylor Public Schools from 2015-2019.

For the 2019-20 school year, she was an elementary principal and counselor for grades 4-12 at Richardton-Taylor.

She has been with Jamestown Public Schools as a principal since 2020. She also serves as the homeless and foster care liaison, assessment coordinator, Title I co-director and elementary activities director for Jamestown Public Schools.

Jung was named teacher of the year for Jefferson Elementary School in Dickinson in 2010 and 2013 and Dickinson Teacher of the Year in 2010.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Dickinson State University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Chadron State College, a master’s degree in school counseling from Lamar University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

She also holds her administrative credential from North Dakota State University.
