FARGO — Crews battled an apartment fire at 1717 40th St. S, just a few blocks south of the West Acres Mall, shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28.
According to a Fargo battalion chief, the fire started in the kitchen near the stove, and was quickly put out.
The entire south wing of the apartment building had to be evacuated during the fire, and the person living in the unit where it started was displaced.
The fire is estimated to have caused $20,000 to $25,000 in damage, according to the battalion chief.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
