Political event to feature Sheriff Jahner, Fargo mayoral candidate Roers Jones

Jahner will give the main presentation about public safety. Roers Jones will separately address attendees as a mayoral candidate.

FARGO — The public is invited to a luncheon with appearances from local candidates running for public office.

A "Politics and a Plate" event, with Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner, who is running for reelection, and Fargo mayoral candidate Shannon Roers Jones will be held Wednesday, June 1, at the Fargo Holiday Inn.

Jahner will give the main presentation about public safety.

Roers Jones will separately address attendees as a mayoral candidate.

Jahner and Roers Jones, who's also a North Dakota lawmaker, have previously clashed over proposed criminal justice reforms .

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program runs from noon to 1 p.m.

The event is put on by the Cass County United Republican Committee and the cost is $20, to be paid at the door.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by sending an email to CC4URC@gmail.com by Friday, May 27.

Reservations are required even for those who have purchased a punch card to Politics and a Plate.
