FARGO – A fire Wednesday morning, Aug. 8, at the CNH Industrial America plant in Fargo caused no injuries but prompted an evacuation that lasted several hours.

The fire was reported about 9:50 a.m., and it was extinguished within about 15 minutes of firefighters arriving, according to Jason Ness, a battalion chief with the Fargo Fire Department.

Ness said the fire was first believed to have started in a generator but that was ruled out and the cause was still being investigated.

Ness said because of the size of the building, crews had difficulty venting smoke from the building. At noon, employees still had not been allowed back into the area where the fire occurred, which was on the north side of the complex.

The plant produces Case IH and New Holland tractor brands.
