MOORHEAD — No one was injured in a Moorhead garage fire Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 22, but the structure is likely a total loss, firefighters said.
At 3:45 p.m., dispatchers received a report of a fire on the 1100 block of 11th St. S., just a few blocks south of the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus. According to Assistant Fire Chief Benton Hicks, a single-stall garage had caught on fire with a vehicle inside of it.
Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze within minutes, and the homeowner arrived on scene shortly after, Hicks said. An hour after the fire, crews remained at the garage to monitor hot spots.
Damages are estimated to be anywhere from $35,000 to $40,000, Hicks said. Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
