FARGO — The Fargo Fire Department responded to a single-engine plane catching fire at a private hangar north of Hector International Airport, on Wednesday afternoon, June 3 at roughly 2:20 p.m.

The plane caught fire when a pilot attempted to start it, a fire department battalion chief told reporters at the scene. The pilot was the only person in the plane at the time and the aircraft did not take off. No one was injured and the fire was handled quickly, the battalion chief added.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
