MOORHEAD — A fast moving fire destroyed a Moorhead home early Sunday morning, Jan. 24.
The 911 call came in just before 4 a.m., at 1314 11th St. S., located behind Jake Christiansen Stadium on the Concordia College campus.
Firefighters arriving on scene encountered a lot of heat in the basement, and within minutes were forced to get out of the home as flames moved to the first floor and started to shootout the windows.
A bulk of the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes, however it was not enough to save the home. Firefighters had to cut a hole through the roof to eventually put out the fire. The lone individual inside the home when the fire began made it out safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
