MOORHEAD — A Moorhead man is out without a home after a mobile home fire Monday, May 3.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 5:15 p.m. near Bennett Park. Moorhead Fire Department Deputy Chief Jeff Wallin says one man was in the mobile home at the time, who escaped without any injuries.
According to Wallin, it took nearly 30 minutes to get everything under control and took help from a handful of agencies. He says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Wallin says the man tried to put the fire out himself.
"He was unsuccessful before he called 911," Wallin said. "Passersby also called 911 to report the fire and the possibility of some explosions in the trailer."
The Salvation Army is working with the man to find a place to stay.
