FARGO — Firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire reported by a neighbor in the 6000 block of 24th Street South on Sunday night, July 18.
Emergency dispatchers received a report of smoke coming from the back window of a house at 6086 24th St. S. shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday.
The person living at the address was outside when firefighters arrived, according to the Fargo Fire Department. They were the only person at the home.
Firefighters kept the flames from spreading beyond the kitchen, which sustained heavy damage. There was also heavy smoke damage throughout the home.
One person was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The fire started in the kitchen, but the cause has not yet been determined, fire officials said.
