UPDATE: The Fargo Fire Department confirms that it was able to extinguish a 2 alarm garage fire at the Waterstone Place Apartments.

The fire did not spread to any nearby buildings.

People who left their homes were allowed to return and firefighters said nobody was displaced.

FARGO- Fire crews have shut down a road and an evacuation appears to be underway at an apartment building to fight a fire that started in a nearby row of garages along Oak Manor Avenue South.

The call came into Red River Regional Dispatch as a fully engulfed garage at 1431 Oak Manor Ave S. shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 22.

Shortly after emergency crews arrived to the address, they upgraded the call to a 2 alarm fire.
