FARGO — A teenager's quick thinking saved them from a destructive apartment fire in Fargo on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Around noon, smoke was seen coming from the first floor of an apartment located at 2814 8th St. N., west of Red River Lanes, according to a press release from the Fargo Fire Department.

A teenager inside the unit discovered the fire, but heavy smoke stopped them from using the door. The teen was able to escape by climbing out a bedroom window on the first floor of the building.

No one was hurt. The fire was quickly put out and caused approximately $32,000 in damage, according to the fire department.
