WEST FARGO — Police continue to investigate after a traffic stop turned into a high speed chase from West Fargo to Casselton early Friday morning, May 3.

At around 2 a.m., a West Fargo police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for travelling 52 mph in a residential area with a 25 mph speed limit, according to Assistant Police Chief Jerry Boyer.

The driver fled the stop and led officers on a chase out of West Fargo on Interstate 94 to Casselton that reached speeds of around 100 mph before it was called off.

There was a report that a passenger may have jumped out of the suspect's vehicle, but police did not confirm this.

Police later searched the area surrounding Central Cass High School for the vehicle.
