BISMARCK — North Dakota's U.S. senators announced Thursday, May 16, that the chamber unanimously confirmed Fargo's Lance Yohe to serve on the International Joint Commission.

The six-member commission's membership is evenly split between the United States and Canada. It is responsible for preventing and resolving disputes over cross-border water rights between the two countries.

Yohe is the former executive director of the Red River Basin Commission.
