MOORHEAD — Clay County and the city of Moorhead will both hold Truth in Taxation meetings this week.
The Clay County meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, following the regular County Commission meeting in the county board room in the Clay County courthouse.
The Moorhead meeting will be held Monday, Dec. 2, at 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers during the regular City Council meeting.
Truth in Taxation is a program created in 1988 to encourage public participation in Minnesota's property tax system.
Under the program, proposed levies are adopted by local governments in September of each year, and public input must be heard before the levies can be approved.
