FARGO — State Rep. Jim Kasper has announced he is running for reelection in November.
A Republican, Kasper has held the House seat for south Fargo's District 46 since 2000.
"I want to continue to serve the residents of District 46 and the people of North Dakota," said Kasper, who is the chairman of the House Government & Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Industry, Business & Labor Committee.
In 2019, Kasper was also appointed chairman of the Special Committee on Ethics, which was charged with drafting legislation to implement Measure 1, which created the new Ethics Commission in the North Dakota Constitution.
Kasper said major issues for the 2021 legislative session will include funding for the Fargo-Moorhead flood diversion project and ongoing efforts to bring Missouri River water to eastern North Dakota.
