FARGO — The city of Fargo is encouraging residents to apply for an opening on its Native American Commission.

Applications will be reviewed starting Dec. 14, and applying prior to that date is encouraged. Commission meetings will occur at noon on the first Thursday of each month. The average time commitment is one to 10 hours per month.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop recommendations for Fargo participation in Native American projects and programs.
  • Investigate and record inventory of local Native American cultural assets.
  • Evaluate existing information on local Native American assets and needs.
  • Provide oversight to city-funded Native American projects, programs and facilities.
