MINNESOTA — After months on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers are physically and mentally drained.
Nurses and doctors from across Minnesota came together in a virtual discussion with Sen. Tina Smith on Friday, Nov. 20 to discuss their experiences.
They told their experiences from struggling to find personal protective equipment to holding the hand of a patient dying from the virus who can't have family members at their side. The healthcare workers say they are exhausted and don't know what the future holds.
All of the speakers, including the widow of a man that died with the virus, nurses, doctors and the senator herself are urging everyone to follow the safety guidelines the CDC has issued including wearing a mask and social distancing.
