FARGO — The League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley plans to hold a public informational meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Sons of Norway Lodge, 722 2nd Ave. N. in Fargo.
Guest speakers will present information on the 2022 redistricting process in both North Dakota and Minnesota and take questions from the audience.
Redistricting is the process of redrawing boundaries of election districts to ensure that residents of each district are equally represented. Redistricting usually happens two years after each census is taken.
A committee has been working to redraw North Dakota’s legislative districts to reflect the 2020 census. The full Legislature will consider the proposed district lines at a special session in early November.
Friday's event is free and open to the public. The League asks that attendees wear a mask as a COVID-19 precaution.
