Noem picks Pierre-area lawyer for deputy general counsel

PIERRE, S.D. -- Still filling out her new administrative staff, Republican Gov. Kristi Noem has selected her office's deputy general counsel.

Noem announced via news release on Thursday, Jan. 17, that Katie Hruska, who is currently an attorney with May, Adam, Gerdes & Thompson, LLP in Pierre, will join Noem's staff as deputy general counsel. Hruska currently practices employment, family, administrative and regulatory law, as well as civil litigation.

She is a graduate of University of South Dakota and previously worked as a law clerk in the Sixth Judicial Circuit. She also is licensed with the supreme courts of South Dakota and Minnesota, the District Court of South Dakota and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Noem said of her latest staff pick in her Thursday release, "Katie has proven herself as a committed advocate who works hard to deliver results for people from all walks of life."
