Life-threatening stabbing under investigation in south Moorhead

Police said they found a male suspect a short time later.

MOORHEAD — Officers spent the afternoon looking for evidence at 1202 34th Ave. S. in Moorhead on Sunday, Jan. 10. They were initially sent there at 2:28 p.m. for a reported stabbing.

When police arrived, they found a woman with what appeared to be life-threatening stab wounds. She was taken to Essentia Health for treatment. Her medical condition was not known when police released a statement at 5 p.m.

Police said they found a male suspect a short time later. He was taken to Sanford Medical Center for what they are calling "self-inflicted actions." Police did not reveal the identity of either the suspect or victim.

Officers are still investigating what happened and are not releasing more information. They said there is no threat to the public.
