7 candidates campaigning for 2 Fargo City Commission seats; 3 running for Park Board

FARGO — The field is set for the Fargo City Commission and Fargo Park Board election where two positions will be filled on each.

There were no last-minute filings.

City Auditor Steve Sprague drew names for ballot placement shortly after filings closed at 4 p.m. Monday, April 6. The candidates for four-year terms in the two open seats on the City Commission are Arlette Preston, Doug Rymph, John Strand, Ritchell Eve Aboah, Edward Krystosek, Bradford Shaffer and Tony Grindberg.

Strand and Grindberg are incumbents, both seeking their second term.

The three Park Board candidates running for two seats are Dawn Morgan, Rick Graalum and Jerry Rostad.

The Park Board election will also be for four-year terms. Rostad, who is chairman of the Park Board, is seeking a second term, while Rusty Papachek decided against running again after serving one term.
