Crashes on I-29 near Reynolds result in injury
Incident occurred Wednesday afternoon, May 18.
REYNOLDS, N.D. — High winds caused separate crashes on Interstate 29 on Wednesday, May 18, near Reynolds.
According to a report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, both vehicles were traveling north at approximately 2 p.m. on I-29 when high winds associated with a fast-moving storm caused them to tip onto their sides.
One of the vehicles was a 2008 Dodge Ram pulling an RV. The driver, Kelly Koch, 39, of Edmonton, Alberta, was wearing his seat belt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The other vehicle was a 2012 Peterbilt semi, pulling an empty trailer. The driver, Ralph Shumaker, 55, of Nevada, Missouri, was wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
Koch was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
