Fargo police identify truck, driver involved in hit-and-run crash that knocked out stoplight

The driver of the truck struck a traffic signal, causing significant damage.

FARGO — Fargo police have found the company and the driver of a truck involved in a hit-and-run crash in south Fargo that knocked down a stoplight on a busy street.

Around 3:45 p.m. Thursday Feb. 19, Fargo officers responded to a crash at 15th Avenue South and South University Drive.

Jessica Schindeldecker, public information officer for the Fargo Police Department, said the truck struck the traffic signal and caused significant damage before leaving the scene. It was last scene headed down Interstate 94.

The stoplight had to be removed and a stop sign and blinking red light were put in its place.
