The witnesses said they went and looked down into the parking lot and saw a man on the ground asking for help, so some of them went downstairs to help the man who had been shot.

According to witnesses, Gunn had gone inside the gas station to get napkins to help stop the bleeding until help arrived.

When police arrived, those witnesses stated that Gunn then laid the gun at his feet and told police he was sorry.
