Three suspected of attempted armed robbery outside Fargo motel
FARGO — Prosecutors have accused three people of trying to rob a man at gunpoint, according to documents filed this week in Cass County District Court.
Kayla Cheryl Lynn Patneaud, 30, of Moorhead, Nathan Curtis Ouren, 27, of Fargo, and 26-year-old Adam Lee Busche, no address given, each face a felony count of conspiracy to commit robbery.
At 9:30 a.m. Aug. 31, the victim reported to police that the attempted robbery occurred in the parking lot of the Motel 6, 1202 36th St. S.
The victim said he was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by three people, later identified as Patneaud, Ouren and Busche, who told him to get out of the vehicle because it was “theirs,” court papers show.
The victim told police Busche pointed a gun at him and told him to start the vehicle, court papers show.

When the victim said he couldn’t start his car, one of the suspects reached into the car and took the victim’s iPad and a charging device, court papers show.
The three suspects walked away from the car when people came out of a nearby building, but police found the three shortly afterward and took them into custody.
Authorities were able to recover the charging device, but the iPad and the alleged gun were not found, court papers show.
Patneaud faces an additional charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. All three were being held Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Cass County Jail.
