HAWLEY, Minn. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office has identified a rural Hawley man who died Tuesday, Aug. 18, in an apparent lawnmower accident.

When emergency crews were dispatched to a rural Hawley home about 2 p.m. Tuesday, they found Brandon Posch, 35, lying in a ditch with a lawnmower on top of him, according to the sheriff's office.

Posch died at the scene.

No foul play is suspected in his death, according to the sheriff's office, which said the initial call to law enforcement indicated that it appeared a lawnmower had tipped over on someone mowing their yard.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office in St. Paul, the sheriff's office said.
