Minnesota man charged with sexually assaulting 2 minors

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. — Authorities here have accused a 48-year-old man of sexually assaulting two minors, both under 15 years of age at the time of the alleged incidents.

Norberto Almendarez, of Wolverton, Minn., is charged with three felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and four felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to documents filed in Wilkin County District Court.

On Jan. 25, one of the victims told authorities Almendarez had sexually assaulted her and shown her pornographic videos, court documents said.

The second victim told authorities Almendarez inappropriately touched her. Almendarez is known to both victims, court documents said.

Almendarez initially denied any wrongdoing to authorities before acknowledging some aspects of the allegations, according to court documents.

He was being held Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Wilkin County Jail.
