Man crossing Twins Cities highway hit by car, dies
The driver was not injured and was not under the influence of alcohol, the state patrol said.
ST. PAUL -- A 31-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing state Highway 13 in Burnsville, Minnesota, early Sunday and died.
Robert Westly Smith of Prior Lake, Minnesota, was walking north on Nicollet Avenue at Highway 13 when a car headed east struck him, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Smith was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The driver, 36-year-old Nicholas Allen Barbour, of Oakdale, was not injured. Barbour was not under the influence of alcohol, the state patrol said.
No additional details were provided Monday.
