Names released in Tuesday's fatal west-central Minnesota crash

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the individuals involved in the fatal vehicle accident involving a garbage truck on Tuesday.

EDWARDS TOWNSHIP, Minn. — The names of the people involved in the fatal vehicle crash between a garbage truck and a minivan on Tuesday have been released by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.

Nicolasa Bernabe-Lopez, 56, of Willmar, was killed in the crash. She was driving the 2003 Dodge Caravan.

The driver of the garbage truck has been identified as Rodolfo Gomez, 47, of Atwater. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel, according to the news release from the Sheriff's Office.

The crash took place around 9:44 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 60th Street and 105th Avenue Southwest, about five miles east of Raymond.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
