MOORHEAD — A Moorhead family is without a home after a fire heavily damaged their home by Reinertsen Elementary School, 1201 40th Ave. S.

A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the home just after 11:30 a.m. Friday.

When firefighters got there they found a fire burning through a bedroom, bathroom and utility room in the basement.

The fire was starting to spread up the home on the outside, but firefighters stopped it from spreading to the second and third floors.

Smoke damage is persistent throughout the entire home, however.
