West Fargo woman blown off road near Alexandria during storm

She was traveling eastbound on I-94 when gusting winds took control of her vehicle.

ALEXANDRIA, Minnesota — A 24-year-old woman was injured when her vehicle was blown off the road on Interstate 94 near Alexandria on Thursday night, May 12.

Katherine Gruver was taken to the Alomere Hospital in Alexandria after her 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander blew off the roadway and hit the median cables.

Gruver was eastbound on the interstate when the winds hit.

The Minnesota State Patrol said her injuries were non life threatening in the 7:10 p.m. incident.

Several semis were also blown off the road in the Alexandria area, closing the interstate for a time on Wednesday night.

Winds were in the 60 mph to 80 mph range in an area across far southeastern North Dakota into west-central Minnesota.
