VALLEY CITY, N.D. — An escaped inmate who did not return to the Barnes County Correctional Facility following work release is now back in custody.
Dehl Eagle, 43, did not return to the jail on the evening of Friday, July 24, as he was directed, according to the Barnes County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office alerted the public Monday morning about Eagle.
According to jail staff, the 43-year-old is now back in custody.
Eagle is on the jail roster and his court record shows he faces a new charge for felony escape.

It's unclear when he was recaptured.
Eagle is serving a 1-year sentence for a sexual assault conviction.
He entered an Alford plea in the case in June of 2020.
