Moorhead Teacher Receives National Award

MOORHEAD — A Moorhead High School teacher, known for her amazing musicals and talented speech teams, is being honored with a prestigious national award.

Rebecca Meyer-Larson will be awarded the Citation Award by the National Federation of State High School Associations.

She has led the Moorhead Spuds Speech Team to 5 state championships, coached 29 individual champions, 232 medalists and has had 16 national finalists.

Meyer-Larson has also directed at Trollwood Performing Arts School and directs the nationally recognized musicals at Moorhead High.

She will be honored this June in Seattle, WA.

Kevin Wallevand has been a Reporter at WDAY-TV since 1983. He is a native of Vining, Minnesota in Otter Tail County. His series and documentary work have brought him to Africa, Vietnam, Haiti, Kosovo, South America, Mongolia, Juarez,Mexico and the Middle East. He is an multiple Emmy and national Edward R. Murrow award recipient.
