3 arrested after attempted armed robbery in Moorhead
Officers found the would-be robber's vehicle driving away from a gas station, and four adults were detained, police said.
MOORHEAD — Moorhead police arrested three people after a man reported that an armed man tried to rob him at a gas station.
At about 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, officers were dispatched to Travel Mart at 725 U.S. Highway 75 on a report of an attempted robbery.
The victim, an adult, told authorities he was in his vehicle at the gas pumps when a man entered his passenger door, displayed a handgun and ordered the victim out of the vehicle. The victim was able to leave the vehicle and enter the store, where he and the clerk managed to lock the entrance, police said.
The would-be robber approached the door while displaying the gun and then left in the vehicle he had arrived in, police said.
Soon afterward, officers found the would-be robber's vehicle driving away from the gas station, and four adults were detained, police said. Three of the four were booked into the Clay County Jail.
The attempted robbery suspect was identified as Emmanuel Reynoza, 28, with no permanent address, and a handgun was found in the area of the vehicle where he was sitting, police said.
Reynoza was arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery. Kyla Belgarde, 25, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting assault and aiding and abetting robbery. Isaac Granados, 33, of Chicago, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.
