Body found in Red River, Moorhead police say

Officers continue to investigate the details of the discovery.

MOORHEAD — Moorhead police say they have found a body in the Red River near Gooseberry Park.

Few details were released about the discovery. Moorhead police and firefighters responded to a report of a male body being found about 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, near a walking path in Gooseberry Park, according to a news release.

“The adult male's body has been in the river for an extended time,” the release said. “The body will be transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing and declined to provide further details, including the cause of death.
