Moorhead man stabbed multiple times inside apartment, police say

MOORHEAD — A Moorhead man suffered multiple stab wounds inside an apartment on Monday, March 20.

Police responded to the 3000 block of 18th Street South around 4:40 p.m. Monday and discovered a man with multiple stab wounds, according to a release from the Moorhead Police Department.

The man was conscious and had injuries to his arms and legs, the release said. He was transported to Sanford Health by ambulance for injuries that are believed to be not life threatening, the release said.

Chance Thibert, the alleged suspect, was an acquaintance of the victim and had left the scene prior to the arrival of first responders, but was later apprehended by Fargo police.

The 24-year-old with no permanent address was arrested and transported to Cass County Jail, police said. Moorhead police will request the Clay County Attorney's Office to issue a long-form complainant for Thibert for several charges, including Felony Attempted Murder, Felony Second Degree Assault and several other charges from this incident.
