FARGO - After Fargo-Moorhead received nearly a half-inch of rain this morning, more showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening and overnight, the National Weather Service says.
A potent system will bring showers and thunderstorms into the Devils Lake basin this afternoon, then into the Red River Valley this evening and overnight, according to a weather service statement.
"Some storms will contain localized heavy rainfall, and flooding of poorly drained and urban areas is possible later this afternoon through the evening," the statement reads. "The threat for showers and storms will linger on Wednesday before drier air moves into the region by Thursday. Friday through the weekend looks unsettled once again with daily chances for thunderstorms."
Fargo received 0.47 inch of rain at Hector International Airport this morning, while 0.42 inch fell in north Moorhead.
