FARGO — The Fargo Police Department is alerting the public to a recent increase in drug overdoses in the city, three of them ending in deaths.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, Fargo police responded to two separate calls for unresponsive people. Lifesaving measures were performed in both situations but were unsuccessful, the Fargo Police Department said in a news release.

On Monday, Fargo police responded to two more calls for unresponsive people. One person was deceased when officers arrived; the second person was revived with Narcan and received medical care. Full story here.

Red River Women's Clinic opens at new Moorhead location

FARGO — North Dakota's only abortion clinic has reopened in a new location in neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota.

The Red River Women's Clinic opened in an office building at 302 Highway 75 N. on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

There is no exterior sign advertising the clinic at this point, but a buzzer in the secure entryway of the building was labeled as such.

The clinic's move to Moorhead signifies the end of abortion care in North Dakota unless the state's abortion ban is overturned. Full story here.

Fargo outdoor pools closing in August, but one reopens for 2 late summer weekends

FARGO — The summer pool season in Fargo is coming to a close but one Fargo Park District pool will reopen for several bonus weekends.

Roger G. Gress Northside Pool, Southwest Recreational Pool and Madison Pool & Splash Pad are all set to close after Sunday, Aug. 14, the Park District said in a news release.

Island Park Pool and Davies Recreational Pool will close the following weekend, after Sunday, Aug. 21.

However, Davies Recreational Pool will reopen for two subsequent weekends on Aug. 27 and 28 and on the Labor Day holiday weekend of Sept. 3-5 from 1 to 5 p.m.
