MANDAN, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in the Morton County train and ATV crash.
Tyler Price, 32, suffered serious injuries after he was driving an ATV and collided with a BNSF locomotive train roughly 10 miles outside Mandan on Thursday, Aug. 4.
The train engineer, Randall Burgard 61, and conductor, Arvid Witikko, 55, were not injured, according to the release. Both train operators are from Bismarck.
Around 10:30 a.m., Price was driving a Bombardier ATV eastbound on a gravel road when he crossed the railroad tracks at a marked crossing and was struck by the train, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The train was traveling southbound on a BNSF railway at approximately 25 mph, the release said.

Price, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Sanford hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
