BISMARCK — Following are the North Dakota Department of Health COVID-19 case rates, deaths, hospitalizations and vaccinations as of Saturday, March 3. Because all data is preliminary, some numbers and totals may change from one day to the next.
Statewide case rates
- NEW CASES: 81
- TOTAL ACTIVE CASES: 668
- TOTAL CASES: 100,357
- TOTAL RECOVERED: 98,240
- DAILY TEST POSITIVITY RATE: 2.3%
Fargo's Cass County reported 21 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, while Minot's Ward County added 10 new cases. Burleigh County and Williams County tallied nine and eight new cases, respectively. Five new cases were reported in Wahpeton's Richland County, directly south of the Fargo metro area.
Barnes, Benson, Bowman, Dunn, Grand Forks, McHenry, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Pembina, Pierce, Ramsey, Ransom, Rolette, Stark, Steele, Stutsman, Traill and Walsh counties each totaled three or fewer new cases.
Cass County had 149 active cases Saturday. Burleigh County reported 74, while Ward County reported 67. Dickinson's Stark County totaled 52 active cases.
Hospitalizations, deaths
ACTIVE HOSPITALIZATIONS: 21
NEWLY-REPORTED DEATHS: 1,449
TOTAL DEATHS: 1,449
The state reported one new COVID-19-related death Saturday, though further information regarding the deceased could not be determined.
Active hospitalizations continued its downward trend Saturday.
Vaccinations
FIRST DOSE ADMINISTERED: 147,791
COMPLETED SERIES (Two doses): 82,556
Friday marked a vaccination milestone for North Dakota, as one in five residents had received at least a first dose of a vaccine . According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , North Dakota has been one of the nation's most efficient vaccine-distributing states. The state ranks behind only Alaska, New Mexico and South Dakota in total doses administered per 100,000 residents.

A total of 249,154 shots have been administered to North Dakotans. Residents are urged to seek more information at Health.ND.gov/covidvaccinelocator .
Nationwide, the CDC has reported 28.7 million COVID-19 cases in the United States and 521,294 deaths attributed to the virus. The CDC also reported that 87.9 million vaccines have been administered across the country.
