BISMARCK — North Dakota is asking Medicaid recipients in the state to update their contact information.
The North Dakota Health and Human Services Department urged residents who participate in the Medicaid program to update their addresses, emails and phone numbers with the agency so they can receive information about their coverage. A federal law passed in December has prompted the state to “initiate Medicaid eligibility renewals for people whose coverage was temporarily extended due to the COVID-19 public health emergency” starting in March 2020, according to a news release.
The state will start reviewing the eligibility of 130,000 Medicaid recipients in April, the release said. That review is expected to take 14 months, the health and human services department said.
Residents who need to update their contact information can call the ND Medicaid toll-free number at 844-854-4825 or 711 for teletypewriter. They also can contact a human service zone office.
Contact information is online at hhs.nd.gov/human-service/zones.

Medicaid members will receive a letter regarding their coverage in the coming months, the release said.
“Members who no longer qualify for ND Medicaid may have other health coverage options through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace,” the release said. “Information is online at healthcare.gov or by calling the Marketplace Call Center at 800-318-2596 or by TTY at 855-889-4325.”
North Dakota Navigators with the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities at Minot State University can also help individuals find affordable coverage, the release said. They can be reached at 800-223-1737 or by going to ndcpd.org/ndnavigator.
