FARGO — Police were called to Dempsey’s Pub in the 200 block of Broadway after staff and patrons grew concerned that a man who was pacing around in the back of the business had a gun.

Staff cleared the pub of customers and called 911.

Fargo police officers arrived at about 4:40 p.m. and established a perimeter around Dempsey’s. The man exited out the west side of the building, entering the alley behind Dempsey’s where officers were waiting.

Officers took the man into custody without incident. Police said they found no gun on the man or in the pub.

Medics evaluated the man for mental health issues, and then an officer took him to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

No charges will be filed, police said.
