Sugar beet truck driver killed in accident near Reynolds, ND

The loaded sugar beet truck left the road, struck and approach, partly overturned and caught fire.

HILLSBORO, N.D. — The driver of a truck hauling sugar beets was killed the night of Saturday, Oct. 23, in an accident near Reynolds, N.D.

The driver was driving along Eagle Avenue 2½ miles west of Reynolds and entered the south ditch, where the truck struck an approach and partially tipped, then caught fire, according to Sgt. Ryan Panasuk of the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of family. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
