FARGO — The Fargo Police Department has identified the two men who died in a Saturday shooting not far from North Dakota State University.
They are Jaquan Gatewood, 28, of Fargo, and Kierre Davies, 27, of Fargo, police said in a Sunday, Nov. 20, news release. Both had gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
The department is actively investigating the cause of these deaths while it awaits autopsy results, the police release said.
At 3:17 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, Fargo police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of 15th Street North, on the west side of Johnson Soccer Complex two blocks south of the NDSU campus.
Officers found two people with gunshot wounds and both died, a city spokesperson said.

One body was seen in the driveway of the apartment house, while another person was pronounced dead in an ambulance parked outside.

The two people were known to each other, Fargo police reported in a Facebook post just after 5 p.m. Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Fargo police said they didn't have anyone in custody related to the shooting and the motive was unclear.
