GREENBUSH, Minn. — A northwest Minnesota school bus driver pulled over for speeding was removed from her route and ticketed for having alcohol in her system, early Wednesday morning, May 15, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A Minnesota state trooper pulled a school bus over for speeding on County Road 7 in Barto Township, a little more than a mile north of Greenbush, law enforcement officials said.
After interacting with driver, 40-year-old Alicia Dawn Olson, the trooper believed she may have had alcohol in her system. Olson had stated she had been drinking the night before.
After further investigation, the Minnesota State Patrol determined that Olson had alcohol in her system and cited Olson for speeding and having alcohol in her system while operating a school bus.
There were no children on the bus at the time of the traffic stop. Olson said she hadn't made her first stop yet and a replacement driver was brought in to complete the bus route.
